Opportunities to
Volunteer!
At KBI we seem to always have opportunities for
volunteers to assist. In fact, we are
very dependent on volunteers for our major work projects.
At present we are nearly finished
building a duplex for married students. A small
laundromat and needed storage space is attached to one end. The
assistance of several volunteers has helped make this project a
reality!
OTHER NEEDS ... Summer 2008
Two cabins and a wash house need siding
(funds are already on hand for this project).
The KBI mechanical and wood working
shop needs to be reshingled (asphalt). (One portion is 16 feet high and the
other portion is 10 feet high. Old shingles need to be removed
first.) Funds are already on hand for this project.
Also, a staff house (not shown) needs some
extensive
repairs to its kitchen & bathroom. An experienced carpenter is needed
to assist KBI maintenance man with this project. Funds are on hand.
Plus URGENT
needs for this summer!
-- A benevolent (reasonably
priced) contractor to facilitate water and sewer connection to
town systems.
-- Volunteer skilled back-hoe
operator;
-- Volunteers to erect a chain
link fence.
KBI is usually able to provide accommodations and meals
for short- term volunteers. (Long- term volunteers will be asked to
contribute towards their keep.) We do not ask for any monetary
contributions toward the project. Just get yourself here!
