APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. You must be a born again Christian
(John 3). That is, you must know the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and
Savior and it must be evident that you have a personal relationship
with Him.
2. It is important, before you come
to KBI, that your life should already demonstrate that you are
seeking to live a life that is holy and right before God (Colossians
3). You should not be using alcohol, drugs, or tobacco in any form.
3. You must come prepared to
cheerfully follow the rules of the School, desiring to work hard at
your studies and desiring to apply the truths that you learn to your
own personal life.
4. You must be 18 years old and have
completed grade 12, or qualify as a "mature student" (19
years old or older).
5. You must have all personal debts
paid off before coming to school. If your debt is too large to pay
off right away, you will need to show us that arrangements can be
made to properly look after your debt while you are at school.
Students are not allowed to receive welfare while attending KBI. If
the Lord wants you to attend KBI, He will provide the finances for
you.
6. You must have a good working
knowledge of English, as all courses are taught in English.
7. If you are a single parent, you
must have your children in public school while attending KBI.
8. Prisoners may apply after their
release and must have completed all their probationary requirements
before attending KBI.
9. If you are married, both of you
need to apply and enroll as students.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. If you would like to attend KBI,
fill out the application form and mail it in to KBI.
(If you do not have an application
form, please contact us and we will send you one. Husbands and wives will need to
fill out separate application forms. We need three reference forms
for each of you.)
2. Have three people who know you
well fill out the reference forms that come with the application.
One of those people must be the pastor or missionary of the church
or fellowship you are attending. Make sure that they mail these
forms to us as soon as possible.
3. Once we receive your completed
application form and all three reference forms, we will process your
application.
4. If and when you are accepted, we
will send you an acceptance letter along with an informational
packet which will include more information about the School, as well
as some basic guidelines we want you to be aware of before you come
to KBI. If you have any questions, please feel free to write, phone
or e-mail us. We'll be glad to answer your questions.
5. KBI will not accept applications
from those who are under provincial or federal discipline until all
terms of discipline and probation have been served in full. We
recommend that individuals who would like to come to Bible school
first of all seek to establish themselves with a church or Christian
fellowship before coming to KBI.
COURSE REGISTRATION
1. Course registration takes place
the first day of each Session.
2. No late comers. If you are late,
you should expect to wait for the next Session.
3. Single students: please do not
come any earlier than one day before the Session begins. Families
with children in the public school system may arrive earlier so that
their children can start public school at the proper time. You must
make arrangements in advance with us if you are planning on arriving
earlier than one day before the Session begins.
4. If you are enrolling for one
particular course, you must make sure that you arrive on campus the
day before that course begins. Exceptions must be made with the KBI
Administrator.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Several individuals and organizations
have established financial assistance to help KBI students. There
are basically three different types of financial assistance
available:
BURSARIES: Bursaries are awarded on
an annual basis to students who have a financial need and are
demonstrating a sincere desire to apply themselves to their school
work and responsibilities. This money is credited directly to the
student accounts.
STUDENT AID: We receive donations of
various amounts on a monthly basis that are sent to KBI designated
as Student Aid. As long as there is money in this Fund it is
credited directly to student accounts which are in need of financial
assistance for tuition, rent, room and board etc., and are in good
standing with KBI. This money cannot be given directly to the
student.
STUDENT BENEVOLENCE FUND: As long as
there is money in this Fund, it is used to help students in
difficult financial situations in order to help put food on the
table (for student families) and to buy medication, etc. It is used as an emergency fund
and is not to be relied on as a source of income.
